About the Opportunity
Our client in the downtown Ottawa area is looking for a Senior Staff Accountant to join their fast-paced, growing organization on a full-time, permanent basis.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Production of financial reports
- In-depth financial analysis, cash flow management
- Accurate and timely preparation of Personal and Corporate taxes
- Preparation of Notice to Readers, Compilation engagements
- Participate in Audit and Review Engagements
- Providing assessment and consultative advice on financial and like matters
- Assist with full-cycle accounting duties including Accounts Payables and Receivables, account and credit card reconciliations, posting of journal entries as well as working closely with the General Ledger
- Time and attendance verification, WSIB and HST remittances for payroll as needed
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Active CPA designation in good standing, or end stages of obtaining CPA designation
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role
- Proficiency with CaseWare or TaxPrep software
- Excellent communication skills (English mandatory)- written, oral, comprehension
- Strong problem solving skills
- Highly organized, strong attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills, self-starter, collaborative
