About the Opportunity 

Parker Huggett is partnered with a growing geotechnical, materials and environmental engineering firm to find a Project Manager to join their team. With roots originally in Newfoundland, this organization has been growing rapidly over recent years by focusing on servicing the construction and mining sectors.  

This group offers unparalleled expertise to the entire geotechnical spectrum—from planning and investigation, to execution and quality control. They have shown success in Ontario already with expansion across multiple offices and their ambitions certainly don’t end there.  With a view to continue building their team and expanding into new markets, they are ready to establish new regional operations in the Barrie area and are looking for strong talent to build the local team around.  

They have a strong recipe for success, largely achieved through empowering their team to challenge themselves, progress quickly in their careers and share in the company’s growth.

Duties include but are not limited to: 
  • Mentoring of Junior Staff
  • Supervision of Field & Laboratory Testing and Inspection
  • Business Development
  • Proposal Preparation
  • Budget creation and monitoring
  • Client care and communication
About You

The successful candidate will have the following:
  • A CET Diploma, undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering
  • Knowledge of, and experience in, the geotechnical, materials and/or environmental engineering industry 
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills 
  • Drive and ability to succeed with minimal guidance  
  • Demonstrable critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • A reliable and dependable style of working
  • An entrepreneurial or bigger-picture, business mentality
  • Integrity and the ability to cope well under pressure
About the Job
  • This opportunity will be based out of new premises in Barrie, Ontario, but offers a high level of autonomy and freedom in your work 
  • The successful candidate will work alongside senior management in developing the regional team
  • Compensation for this position is dependent on experience; the company offers a competitive pay and benefit structure
