About the Opportunity 

Our Public Sector client is seeking one Intermediate Compensation Clerk to provide payrolling, claims processing, and administrative support services in a structured operational environment. The successful candidate will support the processing, verification, and administration of financial transactions and claims in accordance with applicable federal financial policies, regulations, and internal procedures.

This role is well suited to a detail-oriented administrative professional with recent client service experience, strong documentation skills, and the ability to work accurately with financial and administrative records.

Duties include but are not limited to: 
  • Initiate, process, verify, and finalize electronic and manual claims, ensuring all required supporting documentation is complete and accurate
  • Process travel, relocation, and other employee claims using approved systems, including electronic claims platforms and Claims X, in accordance with applicable policies
  • Administer cost comparisons and provide financial findings to support operations
  • Respond to routine enquiries from managers, staff, and suppliers, and provide information on financial procedures, transaction status, and documentation requirements
  • Process travel-related arrangements, including flight bookings, using approved travel management systems such as AMEX GBT/NEO when required
  • Ensure proper information management practices are followed, including the safeguarding, filing, and retention of financial and administrative records in accordance with security and privacy requirements
  • Attend mandatory training, professional development activities, and system-specific training related to financial administration duties
  • Perform other related payrolling and administrative duties as assigned in support of operations
About You

The successful candidate will have the following:
  • Relevant post-secondary education from a recognized institution, or an equivalent credential assessment where applicable, combined with relevant professional certification
  • At least twenty-four (24) months of experience providing client service support within the last five (5) years
  • Experience processing, verifying, and administering claims, financial transactions, commitments, or related administrative records
  • Experience responding to routine enquiries and providing information on procedures, transaction status, or documentation requirements
  • Experience using electronic systems or platforms to process claims, travel, financial, or administrative transactions
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure supporting documentation is complete, accurate, and properly retained
  • Ability to follow information management practices, including safeguarding, filing, and retention of financial and administrative records
About the Job
  • Contract duration: Initial contract period of one (1) year, with one (1) additional one-year option period
  • Estimated level of effort: 150 days for the initial contract period, with an additional 150 days if the option year is exercised
  • Work Arrangement: On-site in Kingston 
  • Language: English 
  • Security: Secret clearance required
