About the Opportunity
Parker Huggett is working with one of Canada’s largest General Contractors, and a leader in the Canadian construction industry where innovation is anchored in their DNA. Their passion for construction has led to the successful completion of several renowned Canadian projects across the civil, infrastructure and buildings sector, and their pipeline of projects continues to grow!
Our client is looking for a Design Director to join their team. This opportunity will be based within their Toronto, Ontario office and will lead a team of Design Managers and Design Coordinators on institutional buildings and light industrial projects within Ontario and British Columbia.
About You
The successful candidate will have the following:
- You have at least 15 years of professional experience on major projects in design and project management
- You have a passion for construction and your project experience consists of various institutional and light industrial building projects, with a focus on architectural complexities, sophisticated systems and/or environmental issues, and delivered through Design & Build, Public-Private-Partnership (P3) or other alternative contractual modes that include design
- You are experienced in leading and building collaborative and agile teams, while taking an invested interest in the professional development of each team member
- Demonstrate initiative, innovation, discipline and leadership in the planning and development of design concepts
- Complexity is where you thrive, and you are driven to persevere when faced with a challenge
