About the Opportunity
Our growing client in Ottawa west is looking for a Financial Controller to join their fast-paced, growing organization on a full-time, permanent basis.

Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Oversee Accounting team to ensure accuracy and submissions in a timely manner, providing support as needed
- Production of financial statements
- Coordination and preparation of budget and financial forecasts
- Costing and inventory analysis, cash flow management
- Preparing Month and Year End close for appropriate department
- Financial Analysis, Risk Analysis, reporting, ad hoc analysis as needed
- Liaising with external auditors
- Institute and maintain internal controls as well as streamlining policies & procedures
- Communicating with Senior Management on all Finance-related strategies, including developing long-term growth models
- Provide mentorship and development for Accounting team through thoughtful evaluation
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Active or in pursuit of CPA Designation
- 5+ years of experience in Accounting & Finance within a similar role for a medium-to-large organization, including 2+ years of leadership of an accounting team
- Experience in Construction/project-based industries a strong asset
- Strong oral, written, and communication skills in English
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Highly organized, strong attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills, self-starter, collaborative
