About the Opportunity
Our client in the North York region is looking for a Controller to join their team full-time permanently. The controller will work with an established group within the fundraising services organization, overseeing two direct reports. In this role, your key responsibilities include ensuring the accuracy of the books of accounts across the board, driving budgeting and enforcing adherence to budgets.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Financial reporting – compliance & stewardship
- Management & supervision of the departmental resources to drive process improvements
- Influences positive changes to, and compliance with, non-accounting business processes that affect financial reporting
- Customer credit & cash management
- Avoid & prevent the realization of risk
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards. - Execute multiple audits
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Accounting expertise (6+ yrs.)
- Establishing and implementing Internal Controls mechanisms
- Familiarity with executing tax payments and tax returns in Canada & US
- Experience managing multiple entities/ledgers, intercompany transactions & financial consolidations
- Experience with payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, account analysis, and account reconciliation
- Experience working in a fast-paced and rapidly growing scale-up environment
