About the Opportunity
Our client, an International law firm, has an immediate need for a fluently bilingual Quebec Called litigation associate with 3 to 10 years’ experience in the areas of civil and commercial litigation.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Work on a variety of files in the areas of civil and commercial litigation in French and English
- Provide in depth pragmatic analysis and merits of litigation to clients and work as effective business partners with same
- Bring cases to mediation and/or trial process where merited
- Take a teamwork approach throughout the litigation process
- Provide specific advice to clients in the areas of bankruptcy, insolvency and construction litigation
- Provide mentorship to junior lawyers
The successful candidate will have the following:
- 3 to 10 years’ experience in civil and commercial litigation
- Be a member of the Quebec Bar
- Be a member of the Ontario Bar (an asset)
- Be fluently bilingual in French and English, written and spoken
- Exceptional organizational and client servicing skills
- Excellent writing skills and the ability to convey complex matters in a simple manner
- Experience in bankruptcy/insolvency litigation and construction litigation (an asset)
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
