Superintendent, Major Transit Projects & Infrastructure - Permanent - 19042

About the Opportunity

As an experienced superintendent, you don’t just “run a site”. You lead packages, align stakeholders, and turn complexity into momentum, safely, predictably, and with pride in the end product.

Our client is an established, industry-leading Canadian general contractor with a long legacy of building across the country and a reputation for delivering complex work that shapes communities. Their infrastructure group is busy and only getting busier, the division is the fastest-growing part of their overall Canadian business. They have a culture that empowers you, removes obstacles, backs field leadership, and expects excellence without losing sight of the people who make them great.

This is a chance to step into an influential field leadership role on major transit projects where collaborative delivery models and multi-stakeholder environments are the norm, and where your ability to build alignment is as valuable as your ability to build infrastructure.

If you take ownership, lead from the front, and want to be part of a team that’s building both infrastructure and careers, this short read is for you.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading day-to-day execution of assigned transit / heavy civil packages from mobilization through completion
  • Coordinating crews, subcontractors, equipment, and materials while protecting schedule, safety, and quality
  • Planning and supervising hoisting/rigging activities with the right discipline and controls
  • Identifying constructability issues and risk early, then working collaboratively to solve them
  • Acting as the on-site representative with stakeholders, building trust, alignment, and forward progress
  • Supporting and developing other field staff
  • Ensuring work meets quality and specification requirements and maintaining strong site documentation and communication

About You

You’re a field leader who runs organized, safe, productive work, and you understand that large transit packages move at the speed of trust. You can think critically, anticipate pinch points, and navigate the realities of major infrastructure: public owners, third-party utilities, design teams, subcontractors, JV partners, community interfaces, and shifting constraints.

You bring:

  • Proven superintendent experience on varied, ideally with exposure to large transit or building project dynamics (multiple packages, layered supervision, schedule pressure, change, and stakeholder expectations)
  • Experience with hoisting and rigging, including the planning and controls needed to do it right
  • Strong relationship-building and critical thinking skills to navigate large stakeholder groups in collaborative contract models
  • A hunger to learn and the humility to know there’s always more to learn
  • A passion for collaboration and a proven ability to build effective stakeholder relationships that keep work moving forward

Above all, you care about how work is delivered and how people are treated on your sites, because you know performance and culture are inseparable.

About the Job

You’ll be joining a business grounded in a clear purpose of bringing life to vision and creating great things with their partners, backed by values that show up on real projects: putting safety first, being stronger together, leading with honesty, being driven to do great work, and creating opportunity.

Add in competitive benefits, a salary ranging from $120,000 to $150,000, and a genuine focus on developing careers, and you’ll see why their teams stay engaged, challenged, and rewarded, and why their retention and results stand out.
